I read and commented on two of Ripp Pernille's blog posts and they were interesting.
The first one was "Why Are So Many Students Absent?" and I explained that I think the best way to make sure students come to school is to motivate them and make it interesting for them to learn. If they are interested they would look forward to coming to school.
The second post was "Giving Grades is the Easy Way Out". I agree with his points in this post. It might be better to have conversations with students to determine there grade based on the progress and improvement. Also the effort they put towards the class because you have to realize that everyone is different and for some students, it may take them longer or they may learn a different way than how you are teaching. You have to take those things into consideration.
